I am writing this on my birthday. Been a quiet morning and I’m looking forward to a generally quiet day. My current project is a new novel for NaNoWriMo. It’s an adventure sci-fi portal novel based on an unpublished game I wrote several decades ago. If it works out I may even see if I can get the game redone and published.
The latest book is out and published and I am very pleased with the reception from readers. It was written with Nicole DeVona and we are currently in discussions about a possible sequel. More on that when the current project moves to editing.
On the marketing front, I have pulled all my books from Kindle Unlimited and I have begun the process of taking them “wide”. For the non-writers among you, that means I will be publishing the book on several different platforms so you can get my books from places other than Amazon and in additional formats besides Kindle. The learning process is interesting, and a bit challenging, but I expect I will have more to say on that as I work through the process.
Since my books will be handled by my traditional publisher through Amazon, and by me for the rest, I officially become what is known as a, “hybrid author”. In addition, I also write in several genre’s of fiction that makes me a, “multi-genre author”. What a great geeky title! Can’t wait to add it to my bio.
I am also looking into audio recording – as a tech geek, it was hard for me not to do this right away, but I wanted to wait until I had found some clear instructions on the subject. I’m not sure that I have the best voice for recording my own novels, but at least I will get all the pauses in the right places and you will know how the characters’ names are pronounced.
